The Luggage Hotel - Coimbra

The so-called suite I stayed in had no soundproofing-what a surprise, right? I almost expected a red carpet, but instead i got a bouncy bed that was just like a spring disaster. The breakfast was basic, yet surprisingly underwhelming. And honestly, a complimentary upgrade would've been nice instead of feeling like a regular guest, really disappointing!

I found it challenging to reach the hotel from the train station, as it involved a steep 20-minute walk uphill with luggage. The coffee and juice served at breakfast were quite poor, disappointing. The bathroom setup was inconvenient, requiring a walk down the corridor.

A nice size room and large bathroom with hairdryers, a shower cap and towels. Location close to the center, central square and a local restaurant that was excellent. For tea or coffee visit Cartola nearby.

Charming Experience with a Touch of Nature

The expansive room offered fine views over Coimbra, and the breakfasts were a good mix of hot and cold options. A lovely terrace for evening breezes would elevate the experience even more. Prepare for hilly walks around town!

Unfortunately Wi-Fi was very poor.

I enjoyed my time here. The location made it easy to explore on foot. The breakfast had a variety of options. One morning I had baked beans, a nice touch. I appreciated the historic building, a reminder of my love for art and history. My room had a large window with great views. It complemented my exploration of this historic region.
